UK MP Nadine Dorries is today's Cunt of the Day.

There is absolutely nothing to like about Dorries. You may remember her from the expenses scandal, or for saying benefit claimants who Tweet frequently should be reported. But it is for being a pro-life Christian that Dorries is best known. Sadly, we learn that she is about to score a big victory in the form of an amendment to the health and social care bill currently before parliament.

The UK's Guardian reports that the UK government has given in to pressure from anti-abortionists to "strip charities and medics of their exclusive responsibility for counselling women seeking to terminate a pregnancy". What does this mean? Well, it will add another layer of counselling for those seeking pregnancy terminations with the possibility that some of that counselling will be of a religious nature.

Do not think this is unimportant. This is the creeping influence of Christians working against secularism in public services in the UK. Anything that gets in the way of a woman's right to choose what she does with her own body is a bad thing.

The Right to Know campaign was launched by Dorries and Labour MP Frank Field, but it is Dorries we look to today for being the British face of a US Tea Party-style agenda, for being someone who definitely appears incapable of keeping her religion out of politics and for making it harder for women to make their own decisions. For that she is today's Cunt of the Day.

Sponsored by people who will be interested to read the findings of a report into clerical sex abuse in the Catholic diocese of Raphoe in County Donegal which is expected to "claim police were complicit in cover-up of sexual abuse by priests and lay members of the church".

I genuinely love how you in the old country call them for what they are, anti-abortionis ts. Here in Canada, and especially next door in the US, it's always "pro-life" this and pro-life that, as if I'm "anti-life" for taking the alternative view of promoting the right for women to make a fundamental conscious choice regarding their socio-economic future. The UK needs to do what we did in Canada and take abortion out of the criminal code completely.

Meanwhile cunts like nadine mine'as well say life begins at erection, because there's near fuck all difference between a zygote and a sperm cell -- or conception for anti abortionists who likely don't know what a zygote is --. Oddly enough, I don't remember anything up until my first birthday; the first moment I can remember was that sole candle on my birthday cake and a lot of bad hair styles by today's standards; that was when my life began. And it will end when I lose my cognitive abilities.
